About the role

In this role, you will serve as both the Team Lead and Senior Developer supporting the development of ServiceNow capabilities. You will participate in discussions and reviews with technical leads, developers, and other stakeholders supporting solution design. You will help develop solutions that support automation, workflow optimization, and service management needs.

This position includes supporting the development of solution artifacts such as roadmaps, operational optimization recommendations, and architecture diagrams. You will assist in evaluating technical approaches and participate in technical design reviews that consider impacts across the broader platform and enterprise services.

This position is fully onsite at the client campus in Woodlawn, MD and requires someone who can lead development efforts, guide junior developers, and support solutioning activities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Serve as both a ServiceNow Team Lead and Senior Developer on a federal program. - Participate in solution and integration design discussions with technical leads, developers, and stakeholders. - Support the development of ServiceNow capabilities across multiple modules. - Develop solution artifacts, including roadmaps, operational optimization recommendations, and architecture/block diagrams. - Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to the evaluation of technical approaches. - Support efforts that extend beyond individual stories to ensure alignment with enterprise needs. - Assist in advising junior developers and providing technical guidance. - Support automation, workflow optimization, and service management enhancements.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience, OR a Master's degree and 5 years of relevant experience, OR 11+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. - 8+ years of ServiceNow development experience. - 5+ years of experience leading or participating in technical discussions and reviews. - Experience working across many parts of the ServiceNow platform with commonly integrated technologies. - 5+ years of experience with system architecture, design principles, and evaluating downstream impacts. - 5+ years of experience supporting IT data integrity, including CMDB and hardware/software asset management. - 5+ years of industry experience (such as financial services, healthcare, high tech, manufacturing, retail, etc.). - 5+ years of technical leadership experience. - 8+ years of experience developing ServiceNow solutions across modules such as ITSM, ITOM (HAM/SAM), ITBM, CSM, SecOps, GRC, HR, and others. - Excellent technical leadership skills and ability to take initiative. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Experience working with federal government clients. - Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. - Ability to work onsite full-time.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience across numerous ServiceNow products and integrations. - Experience with HTML/XHTML, CSS3, SQL, XML, Angular, JavaScript, and server-side technologies such as PHP, .NET, or Java. - Experience implementing JavaScript within ServiceNow to support automation. - Experience with REST and SOAP protocols and integrating external systems. - Experience with Business Rules, Workflows/Flows, Identification Rules, Workspaces, and external portals. - Experience with SAML, Active Directory, and/or LDAP. - ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist certifications such as: - ITSM - CSM - Discovery - Service Mapping - Strategic Portfolio Management - Application Portfolio Management - Software Asset Management - Hardware Asset Management - Specialized ServiceNow developer or practitioner certifications across ITSM, HAM/SAM, ITBM, CSM, SecOps, GRC, TRM/APM, or HR. - Project Management or Agile-related certifications (PMP, PMI-ACP, ScrumMaster). - ITIL v4 Foundations certification.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience, or Master's degree with 5 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, 11+ years of directly related experience may be considered.

Certifications

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (preferred). - ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (preferred). - One or more CIS certifications across ITSM, CSM, Discovery, Service Mapping, SPM/APM, HAM, or SAM. - ITIL v4 Foundations (preferred). - Agile or project management certifications (preferred).
