About the role

In this role, you will serve as the technical leader responsible for defining, developing, and implementing architecture solutions on the ServiceNow platform. You will participate in discussions and reviews with technical leads, developers, and other stakeholders and contribute to the alignment of ServiceNow capabilities with broader enterprise needs.

You will help produce detailed solution artifacts, including architectural diagrams, roadmaps, and recommendations for improving operations and platform usage. You will play an active role in reviewing and advising on technical approaches and in developing strategies for extending ServiceNow capabilities.

This position requires someone who can balance hands-on technical understanding with leadership and communication skills. You will support the development of new capabilities across multiple ServiceNow modules, provide direction to development teams, and contribute to solutioning activities in a dynamic environment.

This position is fully onsite at the client campus in Woodlawn, MD.

Responsibilities

- Provide architectural leadership for the ServiceNow platform. - Lead or participate in technical design discussions and reviews with development teams and technical stakeholders. - Develop architectural diagrams, roadmaps, and recommendations to support strategic platform direction. - Contribute to the alignment of enterprise needs with ServiceNow capabilities. - Advise development teams on technical approaches, platform best practices, and design considerations. - Support the development and extension of ServiceNow modules across multiple service domains. - Participate in solutioning activities and provide technical expertise for new capabilities and enhancements. - Assist in identifying opportunities for improving operations, automation, and platform performance.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree and 12 years of relevant experience, OR a Master's degree and 10 years of relevant experience, OR 18+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. - 10+ years of ServiceNow development experience. - 5+ years of architectural experience on the ServiceNow platform. - Experience supporting multiple parts of the ServiceNow platform and commonly integrated technologies. - Experience leading or participating in technical discussions, reviews, and architectural decision-making. - Experience with system architecture, design principles, and understanding downstream impacts of design decisions. - Experience with IT data integrity and configuration/asset management. - Experience developing technical and operational recommendations. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Experience working with or for U.S. Federal Government clients. - Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. - Ability to work onsite full-time.

Preferred Qualifications

- Additional experience with industries such as financial services, healthcare, high tech, manufacturing, retail, or similar. - Experience across multiple ServiceNow areas, including ITSM, ITOM (HAM/SAM), ITBM, CSM, SecOps, GRC, HR, SPM/APM, and related products. - Experience with X-HTML, CSS3, SQL, XML, Angular, and JavaScript, along with server-side technologies such as PHP, .NET, or Java. - Experience implementing JavaScript to support automation across ServiceNow modules. - Experience with REST and SOAP protocols and integrating external systems with ServiceNow. - Experience with Business Rules, Workflows/Flows, Identification Rules, and Workspaces. - Experience with SAML, Active Directory, and/or LDAP. - ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist certifications (e.g., ITSM, CSM, Discovery, Service Mapping, SPM, APM, HAM, SAM). - Specialized ServiceNow developer or practitioner certifications across ITSM, HAM/SAM, ITBM, CSM, SecOps, GRC, TRM/APM, or HR. - Project Management or Agile-related certifications (PMP, PMI-ACP, ScrumMaster). - ITIL v4 Foundations certification. - Experience working in multi-team, multi-vendor environments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, 18+ years of directly related experience may be considered.

Certifications

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (preferred). - ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (preferred). - Multiple ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications in areas such as ITSM, CSM, Discovery, Service Mapping, SPM, APM, HAM, SAM (preferred). - Additional specialized ServiceNow certifications, ITIL v4 Foundations, and Project Management or Agile certifications (preferred).
